Ir Yap Yuen Thye (MCSCE, MIEM, MMIM, PE, B.App Sc)
Yap is a consulting civil engineer with more than 35 years of experience. His entire career in the consulting engineering space started in one of the largest practices in Malaysia ie Ranhill Bersekutu where he spent 32 years; running projects (1984 to 2001) and managing the company as CEO (2002 to 2015), after which he joined AECOM Perunding to head up its Malaysian Infra + Env Division (2016 to 2019) before associating with KESPRO. He has been involved in many significant mega projects such as 88 Storey Petronas Twin Towers, 70 Storey Fairmont Hotel Tower, Oxley Towers (Sofitel & Jumeirah Hotel), Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), 1000 Bed Heath Metropolis, Kuala Lumpur Int Airport 1 & 2, KL-SG High-Speed Rail, JB-SG Rapid Transit System, Rawang-Ipoh Double Tracking Project, Kuantan Deep Water Port Expansion, Melaka Gateway Development, Manjung1,2,3,4 Coal Fired Power Plant, 450MLD Johor Barat Water Supply Scheme (Macap, Bekok, Sembrong), and 900MLD Sg. Selangor Water Supply Project amongst others. Consistent with his principles of a circular economy, he drives successful solutions with inherent ecological sustainable approaches and green technology initiatives.
