Project : Phase 3 Development of Pulau Burung Sanitary Landfill, Penang

Project Brief:

1. Materials recovery facilities (MRF) plant for the daily processing of 2,000 metric tonnes of municipal solid waste (MSW)
2. Engineered vertical landfill cells (6 numbers) for a daily landfilling capacity of 1,400 metric tonnes
3. Basal treatment using lime stabilization technique
4. Designed with a leachate collection system 
5. Designed with gas collection structures for future gas flaring or capturing
6. Raw leachate pond for equalization of leachate from various streams
7. Completed first engineered landfill cell and raw leachate pond in October 2019
